Google for Startups Accelerator Program for Pakistan

Google is launching a program for its startups in Pakistan, Asia Pacific and North America called Google for Startups: Circular Economy. refill), recycling, composing, fashion, food, safe and circular materials and use technology to build the environment.

Asia-Pacific is the best starting point for introducing circular economy solutions. It is a highly vulnerable region to the effects of climate change. Only 10 rivers produce 90 percent of the plastic produced in the ocean from all rivers, and 8 of them flow in the Asia-Pacific. It is possible that by the year 2040, plastic use in Asia will reach  40 percent of the plastic used worldwide.

Again, humans use more resources than the planet can produce naturally. In 2022, global demand for resources is expected to increase by 1.75 times the annual regeneration capacity of the Earth's ecosystem. Most of the resources we obtain and use are, are wasted. In this way, more than 2 billion tons of resources are wasted annually in the form of solid waste. It is hoped that this program will help start-ups create a circular economy that is safer, more sustainable and more equitable for everyone and which can re-establish our relationship with material resources and solve the cycle of challenges.

Through 1-to-1 and 1-to-many learning sessions, the accelerator program offers ten weeks of virtual programming with technical support and mentoring from Google engineers and external experts. Participants will also be assigned a Success Manager who will further support them and their organizations.

Applications for Google for Startups: Circular Economy will be accepted from October 4, 2022 to November 14, 2022, with the program starting in February, 2023.
