India's cheapest electric vehicle

TATA Company has introduced India's cheapest electric vehicle

Indian car manufacturer Tata has introduced the cheapest electric car in the country so far, the price of which is close to 10 thousand dollars.

According to the British news agency Reuters, Tata is the only Indian company that manufactures electric vehicles that is exempted from subsidies and import tariffs by the government.

Tata's move comes after rival company Mahindra & Mahindra announced some time ago that it is going to increase investment to 500 million to make electric vehicles and next year It will bring out the first electric sports car in January.

Tata's Tiago electric vehicle is the electric version of its popular model Tiago hatchback.

Its price will start from 849,000 rupees (10,370 dollars), while the number of vehicles sold in India in large numbers is below 15 thousand dollars. India is also the fourth largest country in the world in terms of vehicle market.

This car is cheaper than India's cheapest electric car Tagore compact sedan and that too is from Tata company. Its price is 14,940 dollars, but there are also models of electric vehicles in China that start at 32,800 yuan (4,525 dollars).

Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata, says that the operating cost of the Tiago electric vehicle will be seven times lower than the petrol version, which could be attractive to everyone. According to him, 'Our aim is not to offer low cost but to offer all modern car-related products at a reasonable price.'

Chandra also said that the 'distinctive' pricing opens up new doors for Tata in the markets of smaller cities and towns, where buyers are very price sensitive. Tata is one-third of India's automakers, and the models launched last year have generated huge profits.
