Legal proceedings are underway for the return of Arshad Sharif's body from Kenya

 Kenya: Senior journalist and anchor person Arshad Sharif was shot dead in the capital Nairobi.

According to Express News, senior journalist and anchor person Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

Family sources and associates have confirmed that Arshad Sharif has been shot dead in Nairobi, but no further details are available as the local police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Arshad Sharif's wife, Jawaria Siddique wrote in one of her tweets that "Today I lost my friend, husband and favorite journalist. Police have informed that Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya".

He appealed to 'respect our privacy and please do not share our family pictures, personal details and the last pictures of Arshad Sharif in the hospital in the name of news'.

Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan's ambassador to Kenya, Saida Saqlain, Kenyan police officials and doctors are currently in the mortuary in Nairobi.


He said that the Pakistani ambassador identified the late Arshad Sharif. After the identification, legal proceedings are being taken for the return of the deceased. The Kenyan authorities have been requested to complete the proceedings as soon as possible.

Senior journalist Arshad Sharif was associated with a private channel in Karachi until some time ago he resigned and went to Dubai. At the beginning of this year, sedition cases were also registered against him in different cities.

After the news of Arshad Sharif's death, condolence started from all over the country.

Chairman PTI and former Prime Minister Imran Khan have expressed condolences on the death of journalist Arshad Sharif on the social media website.

President Dr. Arif Alvi wrote in his Twitter message that "Arshad Sharif's death is a great loss for journalism and Pakistan. May Arshad Sharif's soul rest in peace and may Allah give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this loss.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted that "I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragic death of journalist Arshad Sharif. May Allah grant him a high place in heaven. My deepest condolences and prayers to the bereaved family."

Senior journalist Kamran Khan said in a tweet that he can't believe it! "Arshad Sharif shot dead in Kenya". He demanded an immediate investigation by the Kenyan authorities and the government of Pakistan to find out the facts about the news regarding the prominent journalist.
