Singapore Air Ends Discrimination Against Pregnant Employees

SINGAPORE CITY: Singapore Airlines has amended its controversial law to fire pregnant women, but the Women's Association says the law still has ambiguities and doubts.

According to the World News Agency, the female cabin crew of Singapore Airlines were sent on unpaid leave in case of pregnancy and were dismissed from their jobs upon returning from maternity.

After a decade of criticism, Singapore Airlines was finally forced to amend the law.

The airline has announced that the law has now been amended to allow female cabin crew to opt for ground duty when pregnant and return to work after delivery.

On the other hand, a report by Corina Lim, executive director of the Women's Association for Action and Research, said that there are still many dubious and ambiguous things in this amendment. Which was not seen by Singapore Air.
