Gujranwala: 10 people, including Chairman PTI Imran Khan, were injured while a person named Moazzam Gondal was killed in firing during a long march at Old Kachhari Chowk in Wazirabad.
An unknown person was under the container who opened fire, resulting in a stampede. 10 people were injured and one person died in the firing. Who was identified as Muazzam Gondal who belonged to Bharuki Cheema. All the injured were shifted to the hospital and provided medical assistance where their condition is said to be out of danger.
Imran Khan's march was passing through a road when a person came out of the street and approached the container and opened fire. The PTI workers present at the spot caught the accused and severely tortured him. The police have arrested the attacker and seized the weapon.
The accused fired a full burst targeting Imran Khan. On seeing the assailant, the PTI worker hit the pistol in each hand, causing him to change direction and several people were injured due to bullet injuries in the lower parts of the body.
The security personnel immediately moved Imran Khan to a safe place below inside the container. It was also announced from the container that Imran Khan was shot in the leg.
The security took Imran Khan out of the container and immediately shifted him to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in a bulletproof vehicle for medical assistance. Fawad Chaudhry has said that Senator Faisal Javed, Umar Dar, Ahmed Chatta have also been hit by bullets. He said that this is not the first time when a leader is killed.
Fawad Chaudhry has said that the shooter had targeted Imran Khan, we all stood in front of him and saved his life.
Taking strict notice of the incident, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi sought a report from the Inspector General of Police. He said that the incident should be investigated and a report submitted.

The Pakistan Army and political leaders strongly condemned the attack on Imran Khan and prayed for the speedy recovery of all the injured including Chairman PTI.
The long march will reach Islamabad in any case, Imran Khan
Speaking to the party leaders at Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore, Imran Khan said that we are not going to run away or be afraid of anyone, I had already said that I will not bow down and now I am saying that I will fight harder.
Imran Khan announced to continue the long march to Islamabad and said that the convoy will continue. According to sources, PTI has postponed today's long march till 11 am tomorrow on the instructions of Imran Khan.
The alleged assailant told the police that he had come only with the intention of killing Imran Khan because according to him the PTI chairman was misleading the nation. The accused also said that when loud music was played on the counter at the time of Azaan, he did not stop and fired without thinking.
The attacker admitted in his statement that he only tried to kill Imran Khan but could not succeed.
The accused said in the police custody that Imran Khan was misleading people, playing the deck during Azaan, he decided to kill Imran Khan for reasons because my conscience did not allow these things.
There is a contradiction in the statement of the accused because the accused says on the one hand that he decided to kill Imran Khan suddenly and opened fire, while on the other hand the accused said in his statement that only when the Long March started from Lahore did Imran Khan The murder was planned. The accused said that there was no support for firing, someone was present with him at the time of the incident.
The accused gave a statement in police custody that he had left the house alone, then parked his bike at his uncle's shop near Long March and reached the spot and fired at Imran Khan.
The police revealed the identity of the accused
Police sources have revealed the identity of the attacker, the name of the shooter is Mohammad Naveed, a resident of Sodhran area of Wazirabad. Police sources say that a pistol and two empty magazines were recovered from the accused.
All the staff including the SHO were suspended for releasing the video statement of the accused
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaizalhi, taking strict notice of the incident of leaking the video statement of the accused who fired, directed the IG Punjab Police to take strict disciplinary action against the irresponsible officials.
Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi suspended all the staff including the SHO of the concerned police station for leaking the statement.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that the mobile phones of all the police station staff were taken into possession, a forensic audit of the mobile phones will be conducted.
In the emergency meeting held under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Inspector General Police, Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan, Shafqat Mehmood, MPA Hafiz Amar Yasir, Akhtar Malik, Mian Mahmood Ur Rashid, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Commissioner Lahore Division, CC PO Lahore and concerned officials were present.
Protests against the assassination of Imran Khan took place across the country, PTI workers blocked roads in different parts of the country and burnt tires and raised anti-government slogans.
PTI workers stormed Rana Sanaullah's house
In Faisalabad, angry PTI workers stormed the house of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and pelted stones, but the officers present dispersed the protesters, following which security has been tightened.

Imran Khan has declared three people involved in the attack, PTI
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Asad Umar released a video statement in which it is said that three people are involved in the attack on Imran Khan, which he had already mentioned.
In his video message, Asad Umar said that Imran Khan called me and Aslam Iqbal and gave a message and told that "I had already received information, three people are responsible for the attack".
He said that Imran Khan has called Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah and army generals responsible for the attack and demanded their removal from office. He said that if these three people are not removed from their positions, there will be a nationwide protest.
PTI leader Mian Aslam Iqbal said that we are going to register an FIR against these three people. He also said that Imran Khan's condition is out of danger.
PTI leaders said that the long march will resume from 11 am and we will continue the real freedom struggle till the date of general elections.
On the other hand, PTI leaders Sherry Mazari, Imran Ismail and Shahbaz Gul held Rana Sanaullah responsible for the firing and said that a case will be registered against him.
